There are just 4 weekends remaining in the regular season. If the LNAH playoffs started today, the following scenarios would apply.

Laval (1) vs Riviere-du-Loup (8): Nothing changes in the pairing, but the 3L put on a clinic Friday night while the Petroliers skid hit 3 games. This is suddenly starting to look like a legitimate matchup.

Saint-Hyacinthe (2) vs Sorel-Tracy (7): The 2-vs-7 matchup remains the same but with both teams a single game from a position change. The Eperviers have been playing .500 in recent weeks and are now just 2 points from jumping into the #6 spot.

Saint-Georges (3) vs Quebec (6): An impressive win over Laval moved Saint-Georges into a points tie with the Bataillon who have 2 games in hand. Quebec, meanwhile, lost a tough one to Sorel-Tracy, and is now just 2 points from dropping to the #7 Spot.

Jonquiere (4) vs Thetford (5): Jonquiere took a thumping from Riviere-du-Loup, and Thetford hung a rare home loss on the Bataillion. Still the Marquis hold a 3 point lead on the Assurancia.

4 weekends out, the case for: Saint-Georges

The Cool FM will enter the playoffs with a much different mentality than a year ago. They currently sit in the #3 spot, trailing Saint-Hyacinthe due to games in hand.

The Cool FM can make their case for taking home the Gilles-Rousseau Cup with a prepared mental focus. The team that crash landed in the opening round of the 2025 playoffs is mostly intact, including head coach Kevin Cloutier who took responsibility for the upset loss. This year the team is again a bona fide contender, but they've had their share of difficult nights and ensuing rebounds. Unlike last year, they’ve learned to deal with adversity prior to experiencing it under the brightest of spotlights.

On ice, offense will lead the way for the Saint-Georges. Current league leading scorer Charles Tremblay is one of 3 Saint-Georges Players in the league’s top 10. At the trade deadline they added even more firepower with Jason Lavallee who’s clipping along at over a point per game (4G,2A) since coming over from Riviere-du-Loup. The CoolFM have the ability to win a scoring race against anyone.

Finally, the roster is in its prime with only Simon Demers and Maxime Lacroix past the age of 35.  The fact that Lacroix is a primary contributor to the offensive dominance at 1.4 points per game makes his 38 years a non-factor.

Up Next: Saint-Hyacinthe
